I decided I'd try making my own banner ads, mainly so that I had a bit more control over the content of them, and it made them into my own work. I found that people were expecting the banners not to be real because of the nature of the site. This is fine, but I was planning to use real banner ads, and I don't want to accidentally cause someone to sign up to a dodgy site.

Although I'm happy with most of the results, they were quite time consuming to make. It would probably be quicker to use the fake banner ads I downloaded and edited before, and change the destination so that they point to pages that say "yeh, right, like you'd really get a free laptop". I will keep the layouts for these pages quite simple so that the focus is on the text, and so that they don't detract from the message of hooami.
